Nature and Therapy UK – Course Director:
Stefan Batorijs of 3 Barnsey Gardens, Ashburton, Devon, TQ13 7GA, UK. website: https://www.natureandtherapy.co.uk
Course places are limited, so pre-booking is essential. Fees include your CPD certificate, course manual, refreshments on day 1 and maybe cake!
Please make payment in advance via PayPal. Payments can also be made through BACS. Please contact the office for details: firstname.lastname@example.org
For those with limited funds we are also open to discussions of other ways of paying/exchange please call us to discuss this before booking. We can set up payment plans, please call the office to discuss. We also have a small bursary allocation for those working within communities with limited budgets.
We offer bursaries to people on low income who can demonstrate a direct and immediate need for them to complete the training and deliver walks to people in their area who would not ordinarily have access to the walks. We would need to see evidence of an invitation or request to lead walks from a local organisation, or any other document or example of how completing the training will directly benefit a sector of society e.g., blind people, homeless, those with impaired mobility, rehabilitation etc.
After completion of the course, we ask our bursary recipients to write a short article about how the course has helped them and their communities. If you are able to comply with these conditions please get in touch and we can discuss a reduced rate.
Shinrin Yoku is an extremely gentle form of exercise, requiring a moderate level of fitness, in forest or woodland settings.
Participants are advised that we will travel about 2-3miles each day over uneven ground, and to arrive with correct footwear, and appropriate clothing (and water) for the time of year. If in doubt, please check with Stefan.
ANY MOBILITY OR HEALTH ISSUES MUST BE NOTIFIED IN ADVANCE, AND WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO TURN PEOPLE AWAY IF THEY HAVE NOT DISCLOSED ANY MEDICAL or MOBILITY PROBLEMS BEFORE THE COURSE.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, a decision will be taken based on Met Office advice, and either a full refund will be offered, or an alternative date will be offered.
A full refund of course fees, less £30 admin fee will be given if cancellation is within 30 days
£60 admin fee will be deducted if cancellation is within 14 days. No refund offered if cancelled within 7 days. Any transfer to a later course will incur a £30 admin fee.
If an attendee is unable to attend their chosen dates for health or other unavoidable reasons, we will offer 2 more sets of dates to enable them to attend or complete their training. We only offer refunds at our discretion, and taking into account any mitigating circumstances. If the offer of the 2 sets of dates is not taken up the place is void, and no further dates will be offered or refunds considered. This applies to all 3 courses.
All students are representatives of Nature and Therapy and we ask that you conduct yourselves with respect and kindness towards your fellow participants, members of the public and all aspects of Nature. Any behaviour which is deemed to demonstrate a lack of concern may result in a student failing the course, being asked to leave or to return at a later date. No refunds will be offered to a student who fails to comply with these basic rules of conduct.
